Why is sachin tendulkar the best
Whenever we talk about greatest batsman of all time then 3 names come in my mind. If you are an Indian, you either love him or hate him. There is no middle ground. For some, he is the incarnation of the Cricketing God. When he goes through a lean patch the other camp questions his place in the team and thinks he should retire!
When Sachin came into Indian team at that time the team was having few good batsman but at that time Indian team was not considered as the dominating unit compared to West Indies and Australia despite winning a World Cup.
Sachin made his debut in the International cricket when he was just 16 can you imagine a 16 year old facing fast bowlers like Waqar, Wasim, Marshall, McDermott. Among all the competitors of Sachin , Sachin was the youngest to start and oldest to retire. If you will ask me to compare Sachin with Ponting, Lara, Dravid, Kallis, Sangakkara then I will compare Sachin only with Lara because the Lara is the classiest batsman and stylish batsman the cricket has ever seen but Sachin is no less he was the first to score in ODI and also the first one to complete hundreds in International Cricket.
Richards was the most destructive batsman of that time he can hit long sixes and most of the bowlers were scared of bowling to him. Sunil Gavaskar on the other hand faced the most destructive bowlers of all time and scored 34 hundreds which was a world record. So Sachin stands out even here. So according to me Sachin is the greatest player the world has ever seen.
And, it would not be an exaggeration to say that India owe their semi-final finish in the World Cup largely to Tendulkar. The master was in stunning form throughout the tournament and scored runs at an average of Tendulkar also scored 2 hundreds and 3 fifties in the 7 innings that he played in the tournament and was in the form of his life. But then, even though Tendulkar scored 65 in the semi-final against Sri Lanka, the rest of the batsmen did not offer any resistance on that fateful day and India bowed out of the tournament.
In the World Cup, Tendulkar was again at the forefront. The master aggregated runs throughout the tournament, a tally that has not been beaten till today. His knock of 98 against arch-rivals Pakistan in that tournament is considered as one of the greatest played by a batsman in World Cup history.
But even then, the Aussies steamrolled India in the summit clash. In the year , Tendulkar defied Father Time and appeared in his 6th World Cup, a record that has been matched only by Javed Miandad. And, in his final appearance too, Tendulkar was at his riveting best. Sangakkara, with 38 tons, is fourth on the list and sixth on the list of all-time leading run-scorers in Tests. Also Read Gavaskar predicts India youngster will score multiple Test centuries.
Tendulkar, a former India captain, made his Test debut at the age of 16 against Pakistan. At 17 years and days, Tendulkar scored his maiden century, making him the youngest cricketer to register a Test ton for India, a record that still stands tall. From there, Tendulkar would step onto the path to greatness, peeling off centuries in the challenging conditions of South Africa and Australia, as the world took notice of him.
The legendary Sachin Tendulkar was voted as the greatest Test men's batsman of the 21st century by a panel of commentators and fans on Star Sports. While some talk about his 34, odd runs, some may say that Centuries is a greater feat. And what about the glorious 98 in the World Cup against the arch rivals - Pakistan? Talking about tests, his unbeaten against Australia in Sydney may go down as one of the best test innings by the Master.
His unbeaten against England at Chennai while chasing a record will go down in the history books as one of the best feats in the 4th innings of a match.
Some say. Some cricket fans, though, are of the opinion that the way he dominated the best bowling lineups of his times has what set him apart. A number of generations of deadly bowlers have put up a challenge to the batsmen around the world during Sachin's illustrious career. When the young year-old kid first began his journey, his debut match itself was against a spine breaking Pakistani bowling attack. West Indies still had a quality bowling lineup back then. Soon after, the Aussies took over, while the South African bowling lineup was no less than a threat.
Not only did he comfortably manage to perish them all, he also earned respect of almost all great bowlers he has played against. In fact, he has recorded his best stats against the best team of his time: Australia. Well, everyone has their own reason to love the Master, so do I. Cricket is not a game of numbers alone, they said. Very well said.
